The involvement of Nigerian pastors in s*x scandals and rape cases has been a troubling issue in recent years.

BBC investigation into the late prophet T.B Joshua, the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), uncovered shocking accounts of abuse and torture. This investigation sheds light on the dark side of some religious leaders in Nigeria and raises questions about accountability and responsibility within the church.

In this report Crispng would list some Men of Gods who have one or the other accused of s*xual harassment and rape among other heinous acts.

1. In 2024, the late Prophet T.B. Joshua, founder SCOAN, faced posthumous accusations of abuse and torture in a BBC documentary. Multiple accounts detailed instances of physical violence, including whipping and chaining, along with disturbing allegations of sexual assault, consistent rape, and forced abortions within the church premises.

2. Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, leader of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), became embroiled in controversy in 2013 when a blogger, Ese Walter, accused him of an affair. The situation escalated in 2018 when Bukola Dakolo publicly accused the cleric of rape, triggering widespread public outcry.

3. In 2017, Apostle Johnson Suleman of the Omega Fire Ministries faced allegations from Stephanie Otobo, who initially claimed he impregnated her. Later, she admitted to being paid by politicians to tarnish the pastor’s image. The accusations prompted questions about the spiritual integrity of the cleric.

4. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, founder of Christ Embassy, made headlines in 2014 due to his separation from wife Anita Oyakhilome. Anita alleged adultery and unreasonable behavior as the reasons for the divorce, while Pastor Chris denied the claims, attributing them to external influences.

5. Following Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s marital issues, reports surfaced in 2014 alleging that his brother, Rev. Ken, impregnated a South African church member. The congregation reportedly viewed the affair as an open secret, prompting the church to take measures to contain the scandal.
