In the countdown to the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), aspiring candidates find themselves facing a financial curveball. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has, with a 15% adjustment, recalibrated the registration fees, ushering in uncertainties and additional costs. 

10 things to know about increase fees



Increased registration fees: Candidates preparing for the 2024 UTME must be aware that JAMB has increased the registration fees for both the practice and main examinations by 15%.

Practice examination fees: Candidates who choose to take the practice examination will now be required to pay ₦7,700, an increase from the previous fees of ₦6,700.



Main exam fees: Candidates who will only be writing the main examination will now have to pay an extra ₦500, making the total fees ₦6,200 instead of ₦5,700.

Official announcement: The new fee structure was officially announced by JAMB, along with the announcement that more registration information will be shared with the public on or before January 15, 2024.



Registration window for Direct Entry (DE) applicants: JAMB revealed that the registration window for DE applicants will open on February 28, 2024, and close on March 28, 2024.
