Carabao Cup: 11 Clubs Through to Fourth-Round Draw as Man Utd, Villa Await Fate

Eleven clubs have secured their places in the fourth-round draw of the 2026/27 Carabao Cup, with five remaining spots to be decided before the draw takes place on Wednesday night.

The draw will be held after Manchester United’s third-round meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion, with the winners of the remaining third-round fixtures completing the last-16 line-up.

Among the clubs already through are Premier League sides Chelsea, Newcastle United, Bournemouth, Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Brentford, Arsenal and Liverpool, while Championship side Bradford City and Peterborough United have also advanced.

The 11 teams that have booked their places in the fourth round are:

– Chelsea

– Newcastle United

– Liverpool

Liverpool secured their place with a 3-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Tuesday, while Arsenal defeated Ipswich Town 4-2. Peterborough, meanwhile, progressed after beating Barnsley 7-6 on penalties following a 3-3 draw.

Five places still available

Five fourth-round spots remain to be decided.

Manchester United will face Brighton on Wednesday night, while Aston Villa take on Coventry City.

Everton will host Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Sheffield United will travel to Fleetwood Town.

The final place will be determined when Manchester City face Norwich City on Thursday, meaning the fourth-round draw will be held before that fixture is played.

When is the draw?

The fourth-round draw is scheduled for Wednesday night, immediately after the conclusion of Manchester United’s match against Brighton.

Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp and former Aston Villa captain Ashley Young will conduct the draw, with Pien Meulensteen hosting the proceedings.

The fourth round will feature 16 clubs, with all teams placed into one open draw. That means clubs cannot be protected from facing another team from the same division or country region.

The fourth-round matches are scheduled for the week beginning October 26, 2026.

With Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea already through, while Manchester United, Aston Villa and Manchester City are still to complete their third-round fixtures, the final line-up will determine some potentially significant fourth-round ties.
