The death of renowned Nollywood actor Amaechi Muonagor on Sunday has sent many Nigerians into mourning. The actor died at the age of 61 from complications related to kidney disease, diabetes, and a stroke.

1. Born in 1962 in Obosi, Anambra State, Amaechi hailed from the Idemili North Area.
2. Muonagor earned a nomination for Best Actor at the 2017 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
3. Joining Nollywood in 1998, he showcased his talent in numerous films like “Taboo 1” (1989), “Aki and Pawpaw,” “Karishika” (1998), “Aki na Ukwa” (2002), and “Igodo” (1999).
4. Muonagor’s educational journey included St. Mary’s Primary School, Obosi, Oraifite Grammar School, and eventually, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), where he graduated in Economics in 1987.
5. Post his youth service in 1989, Amaechi commenced his career at the News Agency of Nigeria.
