2027 Ogoja/Yala Federal House of Representatives: Between the status quo and sefless leadership

Every election presents the people with a decision that shapes their future. The 2027 Ogoja/Yala Federal House of Representatives election is no different.

It is a defining moment that calls for deep reflection, not sentiment. The race presents two candidates with different political journeys and contrasting visions.

Barr. Fidel Egoro, the PDP candidate, has served as Commissioner and later as Chairman of Yala Local Government in Cross River State.

His experience is rooted in the existing political establishment and reflects continuity with the leadership model that has influenced the constituency over the years.

In contrast, Prince Dan Onah, the ADC candidate, represents a different proposition. Having once served as Protocol Officer under Barr. Fidel Egoro, he has grown into a leader with his own vision and has chosen a path built on service, sacrifice, and people-centered leadership.

Prince Onah’s aspiration is driven by the belief that leadership is not about titles or personal gain, but about expanding opportunities, attracting development, empowering young people, supporting women, and ensuring that every Community in Ogoja/Yala has a voice in national affairs.

His supporters see him as someone willing to put the collective interest of the Constituency above personal ambition.

They also believe the time has come for a representative who will listen, engage, and work tirelessly to deliver quality representation for every ward and Community.

The 2027 election is therefore more than a contest between political parties. It is a choice between maintaining the familiar path and embracing a leadership approach that promises renewed energy, inclusiveness, and a stronger focus on the people.

The decision belongs to the electorate. As they cast their votes, they should ask themselves one important question:
What kind of representation will best serve the future of Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency?
The answer to that question will shape the Constituency’s next chapter.
