 In detail: Identity of soldiers killed in Delta community

The Defence Headquarters has issued a statement disclosing the identities of the 17 military personnel who lost their lives in an attack in Delta State. 

The tragic incident occurred in Okuama, a community within the Ughelli South Local Government Area, during a peacekeeping mission last week.

Among the deceased are the Commanding Officer of the 181 Amphibious Battalion, along with two majors, one captain, and 12 other members of the battalion.



“REST IN PEACE OUR FALLEN HEROES,” the Nigerian Army wrote on its X handle alongside a photo collage of the soldiers on Monday evening”.

The Defence Headquarters gave the names of those killed as:
