Where to watch AFCON as Multichoice pulls out
The 2024 AFCON (African Cup of NATIONS) will not be televised on SuperSport (SS), as MultiChoice, the owner of the cable platform DSTV, announced. This announcement has left millions of Nigerians searching for other ways to watch the biggest football tournament on the African continent.
MultiChoice has broadcast every edition of the AFCON since 1992, so the loss of rights to the tournament is a significant blow to the media giant.
Millions of Nigerians who wish to watch thrilling football action from the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will have to switch to other TV stations and streaming platforms that will be showing live matches from this year’s AFCON.
AFCON 2024 will be televised by beIN Sports. Football fans can watch live coverage of every match in both Spanish and English on beIN Sports.
Sky Sports broadcasted all the 52 matches in the last AFCON and have also promised to make all the games of this year’s tournament in Cameroon available to football fans this year.

To watch the 2024 AFCON, Nigerians can tune in to free-to-air channels like the nation’s most most popular television station, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) as the games will be televised there and on other free-to-air channels. NTA have covered AFCON on its popular NTA Sports 24 channel for more than a decade. For viewers who might not have access to satellite TV services, this enables more comprehensive access to live events as it unfolds.
2. Viaplay

In December 2023, the Togo-based network New World TV signed an exclusive three-year contract with CAF to broadcast all of its competitions, including AFCON 2023 and 2025, throughout 46 African countries. This may give viewers in Nigeria a way to watch the games.

Ziggo Sport is a Dutch pay-TV network that offers fans of Nigerian football living abroad access to all tournament matches.
