What the cut-off marks mean for candidates

The departmental merit cut-off marks should not be confused with the general minimum score used to qualify for UNILAG’s Post-UTME screening exercise.

For the 2026/2027 admission exercise, UNILAG stated that candidates who chose the university as their first choice and scored 200 or above in UTME were eligible to apply for the screening exercise, subject to the university’s other requirements.

The newly released departmental figures are therefore more specific. They show the scores associated with admission consideration for individual programmes.

Candidates should check the figure for their chosen course and, where applicable, the catchment-state figure relevant to them.

UNILAG has also published the complete table because the cut-off marks differ across its many undergraduate programmes.

Candidates can therefore use the university’s official list to check their exact course rather than relying on figures circulating on social media or unofficial admission platforms.
