The dangers of hiding yourself
By Zubby Nwokoye
“So many times, we hide away from things that might have made us.”
This is because we fail to believe ourselves even before we try. We keep hiding in the crowd, trying to blend so as to belong but while we are doing this we are shrinking our uniqueness.
The question we do not ask ourselves is why we keep hiding, where has hiding gotten you? Are you not tired of hiding? Of not living up your dreams?
Many people’s dreams have perished because they were mere wishes and no work was put in to achieve them, others who tried to put in some work shied away when they failed but what this set of people failed to realise is that failure is not the opposite of success but a part of success.
So, sometimes we sit and grumble at ourselves for not having opportunities, for not being born with a silver spoon. We even vent our anger on God sometimes (but that should not be so because the thought he has for us is the thought of peace and not of evil to get us to an expected end) we also punish ourselves blaming our personality like I can’t do it because I am an introvert, I’m too shy… these are thoughts that are planted by the devil through the seed of fear. And you also know that while you are busy putting yourself down, someone else whom you’re better than is out there making something out of his/her life.
