No Rice and Ødegaard, no problem…. Arsenal beats Tottenham to keep pressure on City

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal faced off in a fiercely contested North London derby on September 15, 2024 with Arsenal securing a crucial 1-0 victory over their rivals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with a solitary goal from Gabriel Magahlaes sealing the win for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Despite Tottenham’s strong start, big ball possession difference and goal threatening capacity, Arsenal managed to take control after Gabriel’s header in the 64th minute from Bukayo Saka’s right corner cross and held firm defensively throughout the match.

Tottenham’s efforts to equalize, led by the likes of Heung-Min Son and James Maddison, were thwarted by Arsenal’s organized defense and goalkeeper David Raya’s crucial saves.

This victory was pivotal for Arsenal as they continued their push for the top spots and contending for the Premier League, while Tottenham faced further challenges as they struggled to capitalize on their home advantage.

The result leaves Arsenal in a strong position, as they continue to battle in the league despite missing key players like Declan Rice due to suspension and captain Martin Odegaard through injury.
