Amarachi Ugochukwu, a 32-year-old bank marketing employee in Ikorodu, Lagos State, committed suicide by ingesting a poisonous substance due to “economic hardship.” She drank from a bottle of sniper in the bank’s restroom on Monday around 1 pm.

A note she left behind cited the country’s economic challenges and expressed despair over her life’s difficulties. Ugochukwu apologized to her family and mentioned the unbearable pain.
