PREVIEW: All you need to know as Chelsea face unbeaten Tottenham

Tottenham will welcome Chelsea on Monday night London derby at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to round off the Premier league weekend.

Tottenham are currently 2nd in the Premier League table with 26 points from 10 games and have been in impressive form this season under new manager, Ange Postecoglou who has made the best start by a premier league coach under 10 matches. while Chelsea are sitting in 11th position with 12 points from 10 games and have not been at their best so far this season.

Spurs are heading into the derby after a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace in their last Premier League game on Friday 27th October so they will be confident heading into the game.

Chelsea on the other hand lost 2-0 against Brentford on Saturday 28th October but The Blues quickly recovered by easing pass Blackburn Rovers with a comfortable 2-0 scoreline in their carabao Cup fourth round game and will hope to achieve a similar result in this Premier league feature.

Tottenham and Chelsea last met in February this year with Spurs winning 2-0 at home, with goals from Oliver Skipp and Harry Kane. With that result Spurs’ brought to an end a run of 12-match without a win against Chelsea in all competitions. They now have the chance to record back-to-back league wins against the Blues for the first time since November 2018.

Tottenham vs Chelsea Team news

For the Monday night derby, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou may have a dilemma at left back because both Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies are doubts to feature in the game. Udogie sustained a muscle injury in the win over Fulham while Davies was substituted at half time against Crystal Palace with an ankle injury and is unlikely to make the squad, but Udogie is at least nearing recovery and has a chance to play; in the event that neither player passes their final fitness tests, Emerson Royal will likely start a left-back for Spurs.

In addition Ivan Perisic, Manor Solomon, Alfie Whiteman, and Ryan Sessegnon are still recovering from injuries.

Pochettino and Postecoglou share the same left-back problems as Ben Chilwell will require more weeks to recover from a thigh issue. Additionally, Romeo Lavia, Wesley Fofana, Christopher Nkunku, Trevoh Chalobah, and Carney Chukwuemeka will be sidelined. Though Armando Broja might be up for selection despite the player having trained for few days.

The Blues head coach might want to play safe with Reece James, who managed to play just 61 minutes in the win against Blackburn. As a result, Axel Disasi may be used at right-back while Benoît Badiashile retain his central position alongside the back-from-injury Thiago Silva.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea Prediction

Tottenham has surprisingly improved under Ange Postecoglou, and it seems they plan to take full advantage of it. Son and Maddison have been their best players so far this season and Spurs fans will be hoping they continue in that form when Chelsea come around.

Chelsea on the other hand has seen slight improvement in their last game, however, they still need to fix a few problems before this game if they are to go with atleast a point.

Tottenham Hotspur has the advantage because they are currently playing better.

Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Chelsea
