The Global-MINDS 2027–29 master’s intake is open, with a two-year study route across European universities and a new self-funded fee structure applicants should price carefully.

The Global-MINDS 2027 intake in social and cultural psychology opened on 26 October 2026. The programme is listed as open for the September 2027 start, while its consortium site gives a 27 February 2027 closing date and the University of Limerick lists 26 February 2027 as the application end date. Applicants can use 26 February as the planning deadline and confirm the date inside the live portal.

The financial terms also deserve a close read. Global-MINDS says the programme becomes self-funded from 2027 after Erasmus+ funding ended. Its consortium fee page lists €9,400 for EU students and €18,600 for non-EU students for the two-year programme; University of Limerick’s course page lists annual fees of €4,500 and €9,000 respectively, with second-year fees subject to change. The official pages therefore show different totals, so applicants should confirm the amount with the university before accepting a place.

What does the Global-MINDS 2027–29 programme cover?

Global-MINDS is a two-year, full-time master’s in social and cultural psychology, with teaching focused on culture, diversity, inclusion, migration and intergroup relations. The programme combines coursework at partner universities with a 300-hour internship and a master’s thesis.

Students begin at either ISCTE-IUL in Lisbon or SWPS University in Warsaw, then move to the University of Limerick in Ireland for the second semester on the available study paths. The programme site says 2027–29 applicants can rank Path A, Culture and Diversity, or Path C, Inclusion and Health. Path B was last offered to the 2026–28 cohort. The partners say the opening of an individual path depends on sufficient enrolment, so applicants should review the current programme structure before ranking preferences.

The internship takes place in the second year at an organisation or company chosen by the student, with work connected to the master’s subjects. Students also complete a research thesis, giving the course a practical placement alongside its academic requirements.

How much does Global-MINDS cost after Erasmus+ funding?

The main change for the new cohort is the funding model. Global-MINDS says it is self-funded from 2027 because Erasmus+ programme funding has ended. Its funding page presents outside stipends as separate opportunities and says applicants should plan their enrolment finances independently of receiving one.

The same consortium page lists the whole-programme participation cost as €9,400 for students with EU nationalities and €18,600 for students with non-EU nationalities. UL’s course-specific fees page instead lists €4,500 per year for EU students and €9,000 per year for non-EU students, and says year-two fees may change. Across two years, those figures amount to €9,000 and €18,000 before any change to the second-year fee.

Applicants should treat the published figures as a question to settle before committing. The two official pages differ by €400 for EU students and €600 for non-EU students across two years. UL directs fee questions to its Student Fees Office, while the consortium’s page explains that living and travel expenses sit outside the programme participation fee.

The application itself carries a separate €50 charge. Global-MINDS says payment through the UL portal allows a candidate to apply for two postgraduate programmes in one online application.

Who qualifies for Global-MINDS?

The academic threshold is specific to psychology. Applicants need a bachelor’s degree at NFQ Level 8, with at least a second-class honours grade 2 (2:2) in psychology, and at least 100 ECTS credits in psychology. The course page also accepts equivalent experience in psychology and research methods.

Applicants from outside Ireland should use UL’s international entry guidance to check how their qualification maps to the programme requirement. The application checklist calls for academic transcripts and certificates, a passport or birth certificate, a CV with academic or employment reference details, an English-language competency certificate and a supporting statement. Candidates may also be interviewed.

Global-MINDS says applications for the 2027–29 cohort will be assessed on academic achievement and potential, academic or professional experience, volunteering, motivation and career ambitions. The programme may invite leading candidates to interview as part of selection.
