Since moving from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City, Erling Haaland has been amazing, breaking Premier League records with his goals.
The Norwegian striker joined the EPL club in June 2022, and has been finding the back of the net at a historically fast rate and making scoring look easy. The most notable records he has broken in the Premier League while representing the Manchester club are listed below.
Most goals in first five Premier League appearances – 9
After netting twice on debut against West Ham, Haaland scored once against Newcastle and then scored back-to-back hat-tricks against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace. Quickest player to reach double figure Premier League goals – 6 games
Haaland scored a fine goal against Aston Villa to reach ten EPL goals in just six appearances, becoming the fastest player to reach double figure goals with that amount of games.
First player to score in first four Premier League away games
Haaland scored his first goal in the league against Wolves. He became the first player to score in all four of his Premier League away games after scoring goals at West Ham, Newcastle, and Villa.
Most goals in opening seven Premier League games – 11
That Wolves strike secured a second record, too, as Haaland took his league tally to 11 goals – the most anyone has ever scored in their first seven games in the competition.
First player in the Premier League to score three consecutive hat-tricks in home matches
The unapologetic goalscorer announced himself to the red side of the city in a Manchester derby with a devastating hat-trick to go with his Palace and Forest hatricks. A hat-trick in three straight home games has never been achieved by any other player in the Premier League except Haaland.
Fastest player to score three Premier League hat-tricks – 8
Haaland broke several records with his derby exploits. He became the first player to achieve three Premier League hat-tricks in the fewest number of appearances. The next-nearest player to the go home with three match balls needed 48 games; Haaland needed just eight league games.
Highest number of goals scored in a calendar year by an EPL player – 52
Haaland easily surpassed Mohamed Salah and Ruud van Nistelrooy who both scored 44 goals in 2017/18 and 2002/03 seasons respectively to break the record for the most goals in a season in all competitions by a Premier League player (52 goals).
Fastest player to reach 50 EPL goals – 48 games
By scoring his 50th Premier League goal against Liverpool on Saturday, Haaland became the fastest player to reach that milestone in Premier league history. He achieved that in just 48 Premier League games. Andy Cole needed 65 games; Alan Shearer took 66 games; Ruud van Nistelrooy hit the half-century in 68 matches; while Mo Salah and Fernando Torres each required 72 appearances.

But can Haaland break a Dixie Dean landmark?
There’s one landmark that Haaland most likely won’t catch, even with his incredible scoring rate and that is Dixie Dean’s record-breaking 60 top-flight goals for Everton in 1927–28.
