What winning UCL will mean for Mbappe, Kane, Reus and Modric?

There are just four teams left in the men’s UEFA Champions League, and each player—including England captain Harry Kane, Marco Reus, Luka Modric, and Kylian Mbappé—is ready to lead his club to victory.

But what would winning the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League mean for each of the above mentioned players? 

For Kylian Mbappé, winning the most prestigious club competition in football has been the ultimate aim for his Paris Saint-Germain team since Qatar Sports Investments and Nasser Al-Khelaifi took over in 2011. From then to now PSG have spent €2.04bn in their quest for Champions League glory .

If PSG manage to dispose of Dortmund and Real successfully navigate Bayern, there is a chance that Mbappe could play against Real Madrid – a club that has always wanted him in their ranks.

Superstars have arrived and departed the Parc des Princes without winning the biggest prize of them all but Kylian Mbappé will be targeting the second ever champions league title for a French side that would also double as the ultimate parting gift that is most likely to mark the beginning of a new GOAT.

For Marco Reus, If Borussia Dortmund win the UCL this season, he would literally become the Steven Gerrard of Germany. 0 league titles but a Champions League to his name that would serve as reward for his loyalty to the Black and The Bundesliga title, which Bayern Munich had won for the last 12 seasons, was the trophy most people believed Harry Kane would at least win when he signed for the German giants last summer. It never happened, because of Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen’s incredible campaign (which nobody saw coming).

However, it is not Kane’s fault. With more goals than appearances in the Bundesliga, the England striker is leading the pack of players contending for Europe’s Golden Boot. His goals were crucial in eliminating Lazio in the Champions League round of 16 and Arsenal in the quarterfinals. And to win the UEFA Champions League, it would mean breaking the curse of trophy less seasons.

38-year-old Luka Modric has reportedly been dissatisfied with Carlo Ancelotti because of his lack of playing time throughout the season. Since then, the Croatian has been linked to a number of teams, including Inter Miami in the United States where Lionel Messi plays, and the Saudi Pro League alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, there’s nothing he would want more than to bring down the curtains on his Real Madrid career with another big trophy. It would be the perfect beautiful farewell.
