What will make a female student fight and tear her lecturer’s clothes when the lecturer is an elderly one who has not sexually assaulted nor abused her?
That’s to show you the high level of indiscipline and lack of morals parading most Nigerian Universities in the guise of being woke. The incident at Nnamdi Azikiwe University is a vivid example.
What happened?
According to the video circulatingg online, the said female student was on a dance video recording when her lecturer walked past her and nudged her to leave the corridor.
Lindaikejiblog reports that the lecturer turned back and demanded that the girl should delete the video as it had captured his face. Immediately, the girl grabbed the lecturer by the neck, slapped him, and started raining abuse on the man who was calm and collected throughout the girl’s display of inadequate home training.

She didn’t stop when other students gathered to separate the fight, rather she slapped and tore the lecturer’s clothes, questioning, ” Who does he think he is?”
Pictures taken from the incident show deep bite marks on the lecturer who’s currently receiving medical treatment for his injuries.
Sources later gathered that the girl’s mother is a lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering. Perhaps, that’s what gave the girl the impetus to act as she did.
However, as at the time of this news gathered by Crispng, the identity of both the lecturer and the student is yet to be revealed.
Netizens are divided over the video, while some believed that the lecturer deserves what he got because most of them always would intimidate students, others condemned the girl’s act, noting it as an example of moral decadence in Schools.
Why is indiscipline Paramount in most Nigerian Universities?
Indiscipline is not a new incident in most Nigerian Universities. It has reached an alarming rate and if drastic action by ASUU is not taken, it could be worse in the years to come.
Recall that in November 2021, DailyPost.ng reported an incident of a 400-level student at the University of Ilorin who assaulted a female lecturer, Mrs. Zakariyyah, in her office, leaving her unconscious. The student, identified as Captain Walz, attacked the lecturer after she refused to assist him with his failure to participate in the mandatory Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES).
Here could be why Indiscipline is high in most Universities
Lack of respect for authorities by students.
Weak enforcement of disciplinary measures in schools.
Influence from societal decay and corruption.
Poor student-teacher relationships and influence of get-quick-rich scheme (Yahoo) where students see that they have more financial and affluence power than their teachers.
