UCL round of 16: All you need to know as Barca face Napoli
The most exciting part of the UEFA Champions League(UCL) is almost here: the knockout stage.
16 teams are left in the competition after 32 teams entered the group stage. While surprise winners like Copenhagen and Real Sociedad will look to continue their journey in the greatest of all European club competitions, household names like Manchester United have already pulled out of the competition.
The 16 teams that remained found out who they would face when the competition resumes in February 2024 during the Round of 16 draw on December 18.
Manchester City, the current holders, were drawn to play Copenhagen, the unexpected team from Group A that defeated Manchester United to advance to the knockout stages. Record 14 time winners Real Madrid will take on RB Leipzig, and Serie A champion Napoli will present a formidable challenge for current Spanish champions, Barcelona for a place in the quarter final.
Arsenal are set to take on FC Porto while Kylian Mbappé and Paris Saint Germain will face group D winners, Real Sociedad to seal a place in the last 8 this season.
Bayern Munich will need to defeat Lazio in order to advance to the round of eight, and Borussia Dortmund will face PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League in order to advance to the quarterfinals. Inter Milan vs. Atletico Madrid is predicted to be another thrilling matchup.
