UCL quarter final draw: Arsenal gets Bayern, City gets Real
There is a tonne of mystery around the 2023–24 UEFA Champions League quarterfinal draw made UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. With Real Madrid and Manchester City, the two winners of the previous two seasons, placed against each other.
Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens easily won Los Blancos 5-1 on aggregate in last season’s semifinals, exacting some revenge for their shocking loss at the same level a year earlier.
A replay of La Remontada, arguably the most popular Champions League comeback ever, will also take place, seven years after Barcelona’s incredible turnaround from a 4-0 loss in Paris.
Axel Witsel will play against his former employers when Atlético de Madrid takes on Dortmund, while Harry Kane will be returning to North London with Bayern Munich to take on Arsenal. Bayern has defeated Arsenal 5-1 in their last three meetings.
