Preview: Team news, predictions… All details as Klopp hosts Pep in EPL for the last time
This Sunday, Liverpool and Manchester City will square off in a crucial Premier League title match.
It will be the last Premier league meeting between two managers —Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, who have defined an era in the English Premier league.
Going into this weekend’s games, there is only a single point separating these two teams, with the Reds leading the table with 63 points and making a valiant effort to hold off both City and Arsenal.
Mohamed Salah returned from injury in Liverpool’s win over Sparta Prague in the Europa League earlier this week, giving them a boost ahead of the clash. In the meantime, City easily defeated FC Copenhagen in the Champions League to get ready for this match.
Given their poor track record at Anfield, City will undoubtedly need to win in order to take control of the title race.
LIVERPOOL VS MANCHESTER CITY TEAM NEWS
Darwin Nunez’s comeback last weekend gave Liverpool hope, and they welcomed Salah back, but the midweek match dealt a blow. Following Ibrahima Konate’s forced exit in the Czech capital, Klopp has acknowledged that the defender’s status is still unknown.
Other injured players from the host’s camp are Joel Matip, Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, Ryan Gravenberch, Stefan Bajcetic, Alisson Becker, and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Jack Grealish is still sidelined due to his groin injury and the England international is not expected back to the field until at least after the coming international break.
Both Jeremy Doku, who missed the European match due to a muscle problem, and Matheus Nunes, who was taken out during the midweek Champions League victory against FC Copenhagen due to a dislocated finger, are doubts.

LIVERPOOL VS MANCHESTER CITY PREDICTION
Pep’s Manchester City team is perhaps the only team in the Premier league right now that is capable of beating Klopp’s men at Anfield. However, they do not boast a good record in this fixture particularly there (at Anfield) as they have only 60 wins compared to Liverpool’s 108 wins and 57 draws and the return of Salah is a huge boost for the hosts. I see nothing more than a share of the spoils here.
Prediction: Draw, 1-1.
