Nigerian music icon Olamide released his latest single, “99,” featuring a star-studded lineup of Asake, Seyi Vibez, Young Jonn, and Daecolm. The track, announced earlier today has already sparked widespread excitement among fans, marking the first collaboration between Asake and Seyi Vibez, whose rivalry has been a topic of discussion since their 2023 public feud.

Olamide, a veteran artist and founder of YBNL Nation, is renowned for his pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s street-pop genre and launching the careers of major talents, including Asake. The release of “99” is part of Olamide’s upcoming album and the single’s vibrant artwork, featuring a bold red background and a stylized “99” design, was shared alongside a striking black-and-white image of Olamide.

The collaboration brings together some of Nigeria’s most influential artists. Asake, whose debut album “Mr. Money With The Vibe” topped the TurnTable Top 50 chart in 2022, joins Seyi Vibez, whose hit “Chance (Na Ham)” peaked at number 7 on the same chart. Young Jonn, a prolific producer and artist, and Daecolm, an emerging talent, round out the lineup. The inclusion of Asake and Seyi Vibez, who have traded musical and personal jabs since their 2023 social media spat over style and success, has increased speculation about the track.

The song’s release coincides with a 40% surge in Nigerian music streaming since 2023, contributing to the country’s $80 million annual music industry revenue, according to music industry estimates. This growth, driven by the global rise of Afrobeats, positions “99” as a potential chart-topper.

Currently, the song is gaining attraction, with fans sharing screenshots of their streams on platforms like Apple Music. Industry observers anticipate that “99” could further solidify Olamide’s influence and capitalize on the international appeal of Nigerian music, which saw a 550% increase in Spotify streams since 2017. More details about Olamide’s forthcoming album is expected to emerge in the coming days.
