Kemi Nandap: What to know about Nigeria’s third female Immigration boss
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Kemi Nanna Nandap as the new Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), effective March 1, 2024.
The announcement came through a statement from Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
Nandap replaces Mrs. Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, whose tenure ends on February 29, 2024. The President expects Nandap to advance ongoing reforms within the service, enhance service delivery to Nigerians, and fortify national security by bolstering border security and migration management.

Appointment: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved Kemi Nandap’s appointment as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), effective from March 1, 2024.
Succession: She succeeds Mrs. Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, whose term in office expires on February 29, 2024.
Previous position: Before her appointment as Comptroller-General, Nandap served as the Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of the Migration Directorate of the NIS.
Personal background: Kemi Nandap was born on June 3, 1966, in Zaria, Kaduna State, and her state of origin is Ogun State.
Education: She attended the University of Ilorin and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry.
Career progression: Nandap has held various senior positions within the NIS, including Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) Zone C, Officer-In-Charge (O/C) of Investigation and Compliance, O/C Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and African Affairs, and Deputy Comptroller at Nasarawa Command.
Command experience: She served as Comptroller at NIS Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos, comptroller of the Plateau Command, and in other commands such as Anambra, Ogun, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commands, and the NIS headquarters in Abuja.
