IYD 2022: Shun vices, work towards better Nigeria, FG tells youths
The minister of youth and sports Development, Sunday Dare, has called on Nigerian youths to channel their energy and resources towards nation building.
Dare made the call in commemoration of the 2022 International Youth Day (IYD) tagged “Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages’’ on Friday.
In a statement signed by Mohammed Manga, the ministry’s director of press and public relations, the minister said the youths are the most active component in the demography of any nation.
He urged the youth to use their position positively to be self-reliant and employable.
Dare reiterated President Muhammadu Buhari administration’s commitment to the continuous provision of an enabling environment for the development of the youth.
He also enjoined the youth to key into the opportunities so as to compete favourably on the global stage.
“Let us also take advantage of the opportunities provided for us by government to get training and empowerment. This will prepare us to compete favourably on the global stage and lead us to creating the Nigeria of our dreams”, he said.
