In group 2 of league A in the UEFA Nations League, France play host, suffering a 1-3 defeat to Italy on September 6th, 2024  in Parc des Princes stadium, Paris.

Although the Les Blues had taken advantage in the much-contested match by providing the opening goal within the 1st minute from a beautiful right-foot strike by Bradley Barcola. However, the Italian side responded back with their resilience in the 30th minute with a beautiful volley into the back of the net from Federico Dimarco after connecting a pass from Sandro Tonali, levelling the game before the half time break.

Many could wonder what Luciano Spalleti has said to his team during the break as they took over the lead in the 51st minute with a goal from David Frattesi which he scored using his left foot after connecting a pass from Mateo Rotegui, thereby overturning a one-goal deficit to leading the game.

In other to establish their victory, Giacomo Raspadori added the third goal with his right foot in the 74th minute which was assisted by Destiny Udogie, causing their first victory against France since 1954 on French soil.
