Embrace love, tolerance, Hamza Al-Mustapha tells Nigerians in Easter message
Former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the late General Sani Abacha, Hamza Al-Mustapha, has enjoined Nigerians to embrace love and tolerance to overcome the country’s challenges.
He made the remark while felicitating with Christians on the occasion of this year’s Easter which commemorates the travails of Jesus Christ in death and resurrection.
In a statement by Chidi Edom, his special assistant on media, Al-Mustapha urged Christian faithfuls across the country to inculcate the exemplary and charismatic lifestyle displayed by Jesus Christ.
“As we celebrate with friends, family and well wishers for the festivities, we are charged to always remember the core essence and true meaning of Easter which is in recognition of the love, sacrifice and suffering Jesus Christ bore for humanity,” he said.
The ex-CSO said the country can overcome its extant challenges if Nigerians are united regardless of their differences.
“In our collective efforts to nation building and as patriotic citizens, we must all rise with love and tolerance as a tool above our perceived differences which pit brothers and sisters against themselves,” he added.
He also called on Nigerians to use the occasion of Easter to pray for the safety and wellbeing of the Armed Forces and other security personnel ensuring the safety of citizens.
