Born in Osun State, Nigeria on March 13, 1992, Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, widely known as Nasboi, embarked on his musical journey in 2014. This came to fruition when he was spotted and signed by renowned Nollywood actress Omotola Kehinde Jalade, marking the beginning of his rise in the Nigerian music industry.

This marked the inception of a career that would see him make significant strides in the Nigerian music scene. Reflecting on his journey, Nasboi shared, “My journey started with a belief, a belief that my music could resonate with people and make a difference.”



However, the road to success was not without its challenges. Nasboi, during an interview on Trending with HipTV, revealed a pivotal moment when a colleague expressed doubt about his potential in music. Undeterred, Nasboi responded to the naysayers with resilience, saying, “I faced doubts, but I kept my eyes on the prize. I knew I had something unique to offer.”

His commitment paid off, as Nasboi continued to rise in prominence. His recent hit single, ‘Umbrella,’ showcased his distinctive blend of African rhythms and contemporary sounds, captivating fans not only in Nigeria but also beyond. Nasboi’s journey became a beacon of hope for aspiring artists, proving that dedication and originality could propel one to great heights.

In the face of adversity, Nasboi found support from unexpected quarters. Reflecting on those who played a pivotal role in his rise, Nasboi expressed gratitude, stating, “Innocent Idibia, aka 2Baba, gave me maximum support. It meant the world to me, knowing that someone of his stature believed in my talent.”



Nasboi’s multifaceted talent became evident when his foray into skit-making gained traction. His decision to imitate Davido in a social media post, initially aimed at catching the attention of the music icon, unexpectedly propelled his skit-making career. “Sometimes, life takes unexpected turns. My imitation of Davido was meant to get noticed for my music, but it ended up opening doors for my skit-making journey,” Nasboi remarked.

The collaboration with Wande Coal in the song ‘Umbrella’ further solidified Nasboi’s position in the industry, sparking a dance challenge that attracted participation from numerous celebrities. Nasboi’s ability to seamlessly navigate both the music and comedy spheres showcased his versatility and ingenuity.

Delving into Nasboi’s early life, we find the roots of his resilience. Raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, in a Christian household, Nasboi’s educational journey took him through Bright International Nursery, Shalom International Nursery and Primary School, Istan Comprehensive High School, and Ogba Comprehensive High School.



His academic pursuit culminated in a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
