2027 BMW M350: 7 things to know about BMW’s new performance sedan
The 2027 BMW M350 is bringing more power, new technology and a major design change to BMW’s 3 Series lineup.
BMW has positioned the M350 xDrive at the top of the petrol-powered 3 Series range. It combines a turbocharged six-cylinder engine with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology.
The result is a performance sedan with 437 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque. BMW says it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds.
Here are seven things to know about the new BMW M350.
1. The 2027 BMW M350 produces 437 horsepower
The first major detail is the engine.
The M350 uses a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six petrol engine. It also gets a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.
The combined system produces 437 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque. BMW says the electric motor can contribute up to 17 horsepower during acceleration.
BMW has also updated several parts of the engine. These include the turbocharging system, combustion process, fuel injection and exhaust-gas routing.
The engine uses the Miller combustion cycle. BMW says the technology helps improve efficiency while maintaining strong performance.
2. The 2027 BMW M350 can reach 60 mph in 3.9 seconds
The M350 is not just about having a powerful engine.
BMW claims the sedan can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds.
The car comes with xDrive all-wheel drive as standard. Power goes through an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission.
BMW also gives the M350 an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph when equipped with sport tyres.
The sedan gets other performance-focused hardware too. These include Adaptive M Suspension, an M Sport differential and variable sport steering.
3. The 2027 BMW M350 introduces a Drift Moment feature
One of the more unusual features is BMW’s new Drift Moment function.
The system can allow the M350 to send engine power to the rear wheels. This gives the driver the ability to induce controlled oversteer in suitable conditions.
BMW says the feature will become available during 2027. It can also be added through a software update to eligible cars that have already been delivered.
This feature adds a more playful side to the M350’s performance package.
4. The 2027 BMW M350 enters BMW’s Neue Klasse era
The M350 is not simply an updated version of the existing 3 Series.
It belongs to the eighth generation of the BMW 3 Series. The new generation adopts BMW’s Neue Klasse design language.
The exterior has cleaner surfaces and a more modern appearance. BMW has also retained the long-hood proportions associated with its compact sports sedans.
The new 3 Series is slightly larger than the outgoing model. BMW says wider front and rear tracks also give the car a broader stance.
The new design is shared across the petrol 3 Series and its fully electric i3 sibling.
5. The 2027 BMW M350 gets a completely new digital cabin
BMW has made technology a major part of the new M350.
The sedan uses BMW Operating System X. It also gets BMW Panoramic Vision, which displays information across the lower part of the windscreen.
There is a 17.9-inch central display in the cabin. Buyers can also get a 3D Head-Up Display.
BMW has also introduced updated driver-assistance systems across the new 3 Series range.
The company says the new models offer SAE Level 2 driver assistance. This includes hands-free highway driving at speeds of up to 85 mph in supported situations.
6. The 2027 BMW M350 remains a six-cylinder performance sedan
The M350 is significant because BMW is keeping an inline-six petrol engine at the top of the combustion-powered 3 Series range.
The wider 2027 3 Series family now includes petrol models and the fully electric BMW i3. The M350 sits at the top of the petrol lineup.
BMW describes it as the gasoline-powered flagship of the new 3 Series range. It also serves as the entry point to BMW M performance within the lineup.
That gives buyers a choice between different powertrain approaches within the same new-generation 3 Series family.
7. The 2027 BMW M350 starts at $65,900 before destination charges
BMW has announced a US base MSRP of $65,900 for the 2027 M350 xDrive.
The destination and handling charge adds $1,350. That puts the starting price at $67,250 before other options and fees.
BMW says US sales of the new 3 Series, including the M350 xDrive, will begin in the first quarter of 2027.
Prices and availability can vary in other markets, so buyers outside the United States will need to check their local BMW market for final details.

The 2027 BMW M350 brings together BMW’s new design direction, a 437-hp six-cylinder engine and a technology-heavy cabin.
