     2025 Grammys: Tems leads chart as Yemi Alade, Rema get first nomination

    Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has been nominated once again for the 67th Grammy Awards, scheduled for February 2025.

    Grammy winner, Tems is up for three awards: Best African Music Performance for “Love Me Jeje,” Best Global Music Album for Born in the Wild, and Best R&B Song for “Burning.” With these nominations, Tems leads the chart among Nigerian artists.



    Other notable Nigerian artists featured on the nomination list include Yemi Alade, who received her first Grammy nomination in the Best African Music Performance category for her song “Tomorrow,” and Rema, who earned his first nomination in the Best Global Music Album category alongside with his album HEIS.

    Meanwhile, Wizkid secured his fifth Grammy nod for “MMS,” his collaboration with Asake, in the Best African Music Performance category. Burna Boy also appears in this category with his track “Higher,” as does Davido, nominated for his feature on “Sensational” with Chris Brown & Lojay.
