YANGG president to UNN students: Enhance your visibility online to get good opportunities

Students of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) have been advised to enhance their visibility online and be productive to enable them get good opportunities in the future.

Ndieze Kelechi, Young Africans Network For Global Goals (YANGG) president, addressed the students during the Thrivefest Youth Empowerment Summit held at the Princess Alexandra Auditorium (PAA) on January 27.

According to the organizers of the summit, Miss. Chiamaka Maduka and Miss. Ugochi Ezejitu, the summit is an annual event organised by the Association for the International Exchange of Students in Economics and Commerce (AIESEC) in collaboration with Roar Hub,  to provide students with the necessary skills needed for their personal growth and development.

Mr. Kelechi Ndieze, who was a keynote speaker at the event said that the reason most students do not get job offers is because they lack the ability to express themselves.

He explained that the quality of thoughts that flow through one’s mind determines the kind of response one gets from others. “If you lack that ability to state what you want,  no company will hire you”

Supporting Ndieze’s statement, the chief correspondent of Afia TV, Miss. Nathalie Ukwu affirmed that what takes one from dreaming to doing is strategy.

She added that one can dream about what he/she wants to achieve in future. But, if the person cannot answer the “how” question, his/her dream will remain stagnant. “It’s not about your effort. It is about the result and output. What you were able to achieve” she said.

Speaking on how individuals can strike a balance between knowing themselves and knowing their community, the president-elect of The Junior Chambers International (JCI), UNN branch, Miss Chinalurumogu Eze, said that it is not always easy to do so.

However, knowing what you want, affirming positive words every day, and working towards achieving that thing will make it easy for someone to attain greater heights.

In a panel session, another speaker at the summit,  Mr. Anaelechukwu Martins stated that it is only possible for people to attend to you if theycan see results.

Furthermore, Miss. Victory Mesona, the CEO of The Growth Padi, a business growth firm asserted that the ability to spot a problem and also find ways to solve such problems can help one gain offers from various organisations.

“Many companies hire people that proffer solutions to their problems faster than people that are just there” she concluded.
