Who is Temi Nkem, the 21-year-old BBNaija Season 11 winner?

Temi Nkem has gone from being one of 24 housemates competing for the Big Brother Naija Season 11 crown to walking away with a ₦160 million prize package, a new SUV and a growing national profile.

The 21-year-old, whose real name is Temitope Chigbue, emerged winner of the “Show Ya Sef” edition of the reality television show on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

Two days after her victory, Temi officially received the major prizes attached to her win, including ₦90 million in cash and a brand-new Hyundai SUV, during a presentation at the Big Brother Naija house premises in Ilupeju, Lagos.

But beyond the money, car and title, who exactly is Temi Nkem?

Temi Nkem’s real name and age

Temi Nkem’s real name is Temitope Chigbue and she is 21 years old.

She was born and raised in London, United Kingdom, before coming to Nigeria and eventually becoming one of the housemates in the 11th season of Big Brother Naija.

Her international upbringing became part of the conversation around her participation in the show, particularly because of perceptions about contestants who were born or raised abroad.

Temi later said she heard people suggest that housemates from abroad rarely win the Nigerian reality show.

Rather than allowing that perception to discourage her, she decided to enjoy the experience and remain herself.

Her approach eventually paid off when viewers gave her the highest number of votes in the finale.

What does Temi Nkem study?

Temi is a student with an academic background in Accounting and Finance.

Her interest in finance also extends to treasury studies, something she highlighted while discussing what she intends to do with her winnings.

Following her victory, Temi said she plans to return to her studies and complete her university education.

She also said she intends to invest a substantial part of her ₦90 million cash prize rather than spend all of it.

The new BBNaija winner explained that her knowledge of finance would help her manage the money and make it grow.

She also plans to support her parents while keeping some money for herself, including funds for a holiday and personal enjoyment.

Temi Nkem’s personality before BBNaija

Before entering the Big Brother house, Temi’s official profile presented her as a bold and vibrant person.

Her Africa Magic profile lists her career as a student and describes her reason for joining the show as wanting to bring “luxury” and “spice” while showing a personality that was bold and difficult to ignore.

Her hobbies include golfing, eating and walking.

She also described herself as a good listener who gives advice.

At the same time, Temi did not present herself as someone without flaws. Her official profile described her as egotistical and acknowledged that she can be revengeful when her ego is hurt.

That mixture of confidence, openness and strong personality became part of what viewers saw during her 70 days in the house.

How Temi Nkem won BBNaija Season 11

Temi entered the Season 11 house alongside 23 other contestants when the “Show Ya Sef” edition began in July.

The competition lasted 70 days and featured nominations, evictions, tasks, Head of House competitions and several twists.

By the finale, only nine contestants remained in the race for the crown.

Temi eventually defeated Aikou and Sheba to become the winner.

She secured 25.87 per cent of the final votes, while Aikou finished as first runner-up with 23.68 per cent and Sheba came third with 9.80 per cent.

Her victory also made her the fifth female winner in Big Brother Naija history, following Mercy Eke, Phyna, Ilebaye and Imisi.

The moments that shaped Temi’s BBNaija journey

Temi’s journey was not built around the finale alone.

During her time in the house, she became involved in several conversations and relationships that kept viewers interested in her story.

One of her notable moments came when she won the betPawa Friday Night Arena Game.

She later described the victory as one of the biggest moments of her time in the house because she entered the competition simply intending to participate and give her best.

Her relationships with fellow housemates also generated attention.

Temi developed friendships with housemates including Bluethopia, Bells, Shibi, Godessa and Araga.

Her interactions with Barry, Kivo and Tram also became part of the storyline surrounding her time on the show.

Was Temi Nkem playing a game?

After her victory, Temi offered her own explanation of the personality viewers saw on television.

She said she believed about 70 per cent of what viewers saw was genuinely her, while 30 per cent was the game.

Temi explained that she was naturally curious and often asked questions because she wanted to understand situations around her.

However, she admitted that she was also conscious of how her fellow housemates perceived her and did not want them to see her as too much of a threat.

Interestingly, she said she sometimes thought viewers found her boring because she spent a lot of time sleeping and relaxing in the house.

The result of the finale proved that her fears were misplaced.

What will Temi Nkem do with her ₦90m?

The biggest immediate change in Temi’s life is the financial reward that has followed her BBNaija victory.

Her overall prize package is valued at ₦160 million and includes ₦90 million in cash, a new SUV and other sponsored prizes. The cash component was reduced from the initially announced ₦100 million after ₦10 million was allocated to the season’s Most Influential Player of the Week fund.

Temi has already revealed that she does not intend to treat the money as an opportunity to spend without planning.

She wants to invest a large portion of it, complete her university education and support her parents.

She also intends to remain in Nigeria for at least two years to explore opportunities created by her new public profile.

For Temi, therefore, the ₦90 million appears to be more than a prize. It could become the foundation for the next phase of her life.

Temi Nkem’s life after BBNaija

Winning Big Brother Naija has placed Temi in a new position.

At 21, she now has the reality TV title, a substantial cash prize, a new SUV and a large audience following her activities.

But she has also indicated that she wants to continue her education and explore opportunities outside the reality show.

Her story is therefore moving from that of a student and aspiring finance professional to that of a young public figure with several possible paths ahead.

For now, Temi Nkem has completed the first major chapter of her BBNaija story.

She entered the house as Temitope Chigbue, a 21-year-old student from a Nigerian family with roots in Delta and Lagos.

She left as the Season 11 winner, the fifth female champion of the franchise, and the recipient of one of the show’s biggest prize packages.

What comes next may ultimately determine whether her BBNaija victory becomes simply a memorable television moment or the beginning of a much bigger career.
