Who is Andy Byron, the Astronomer CEO caught on Coldplay’s kiss cam?

Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot

Andy Byron, the dynamic CEO of Astronomer, has steered the New York based data infrastructure company to new heights. At the heart of its DataOps platform, Astro, Astronomer supports enterprises in managing Apache Airflow workflows, boasting 70% higher uptime compared to self managed systems, alongside streamlined development and operational efficiency (linkedin.com, nationalworld.com).

Since assuming the CEO position in July 2023, Byron has led product innovation and global expansion, fostering strategic alliances and spearheading virtual events such as “Beyond Analytics” in the realm of DataOps (nationalworld.com). A recent NYSE TV appearance showcased how Astronomer secured a US $93 million Series D round to bolster R&D and fuel growth across Europe and Asia (linkedin.com).

Before Astronomer, Byron earned his stripes in enterprise-scale tech ventures, particularly in cybersecurity and software tools, successfully scaling teams and operations across international markets (nationalworld.com). Though professionally low key, he remains active on LinkedIn, where he touts new initiatives like Beyond Analytics.

On the personal front, Byron is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron. The couple share two children and keep their private life largely out of the public eye.

Kristin Cabot: Astronomer’s Chief People Officer

Kristin Cabot joined Astronomer in November 2024 as Chief People Officer. With over 20 years of experience in HR leadership, she describes herself as someone who “wins trust with employees of all levels from CEOs to managers to assistants.”
Cabot’s approach focuses on building people-centred, tech-enabled programmes that support company growth. She joined Astronomer during a period of rapid expansion and now serves alongside CEO Andy Byron as part of the company’s core executive team.

The Recent Coldplay “Kiss Cam” Incident

On the evening of 16 July 2025, at a Coldplay concert held in Boston’s Gillette Stadium, Byron and Cabot unexpectedly appeared on the venue’s kiss cam, sitting closely together. Chris Martin quipped, “either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy,” prompting both executives to look visibly flustered. Byron ducked behind a barrier, while Cabot covered her face (thesun.co.uk).

The clip quickly went viral across social media, triggering speculation about a possible relationship and prompting public backlash. Many expressed concern on behalf of Byron’s wife, Megan, while others questioned why upper level executives would attend a public event in such proximity.
