Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid will face each other in the 2024 Champions League final to end the 69th season of Europe’s elite club competition and the 32nd since it was renamed the UEFA Champions League.

The Die Schwarzgelben beat PSG 2-0 on aggregate by winning both legs 1-0 each. On the other hand, Real Madrid needed two dramatic late goals from Joselu to beat Bayern Munich 4-3 on aggregate, after the first leg ended in a 2-2 draw.



The LaLiga champions have made more UCL final appearances than any other team in the history of the competition and have also won it a record of 14 times with the last coming in 2022 while their opponents in this year’s final have only one UCL trophy to their name.

Dortmund won their first and only UCL title in 1997 when they beat Juventus 3:1 in Olympiastadion in Munich .

When is the 2024 Champions League final?

The 2024 UCL final will be played on Saturday June 1st by 8pm.

Where is the Champions League final taking place?

The 2024 final will take place at Wembley Stadium, London.

Wembley will host the Champions League final for the third since the name was changed from European Cup to champions league in 1992-93 season and eighth time overall.

How will the winner be decided? 

Two sessions of 15 minutes each of extra time will be played if the score is tied at the end of regular 90 minutes time. A team is considered the winner if, during extra time, that team scores more goals than the other. A penalty shootout will be used to decide the winner if the score is tied after extra time.

Who will referee the 2023-24 Champions League final? 

Slavko Vinčić from Slovenia will be in the center to mark the second time in his career he will be appointed a referee in an European competition final.

His assistants will compatriots Tomaž Klančnik, Andraž Kovačič and François Letexier who is French.

The video assistant referee (VAR) will be controlled by Nejc Kajtazović and his two assistants, Rade Obrenović and Massimiliano Irrati.

What do the UEFA Champions League winners get?

The winners of the 2023-24 UEFA Champions League final will be a trophy that stands 73.5cm tall and weighs 7.5kg. The club will also go home with a cash prize of about 130 million euros ($140 million) from UEFA.
