TD Jakes’ health fails during sermon amid Diddy-related probe… all to know
Renowned pastor, author, and filmmaker Bishop Thomas Dexter Jakes popularly known as T. D. Jakes experienced a health scare during a sermon at The Potter’s House in Dallas, Texas, on Sunday.
The incident occurred as Jakes, 67, concluded his message with a prayer, visibly struggling before church officials intervened to prevent a collapse.
In a statement shared on Twitter, The Potter’s House confirmed that Jakes received immediate medical attention and is now in stable condition. “The entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community. Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers,” church stated.
The cause of the health scare was not disclosed, but it comes as Jakes faces renewed scrutiny linked to a lawsuit involving music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones and Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Allegations and Controversy
The lawsuit, filed by Jones, claims that Combs attempted to use his relationship with Bishop Jakes to mitigate the fallout from a separate lawsuit filed by Cassie Ventura against the music mogul. According to Jones, he has “irrefutable evidence” of Combs detailing his plans to leverage Jakes’ influence to protect his public image.
Although Jakes is not named as a defendant in the suit, his name has been drawn into public discussions. Adding to the controversy are unverified social media reports from December 2023 alleging that he participated in sex parties hosted by Combs.

Jakes addressed these rumors during a Christmas Eve service at The Potter’s House, dismissing the allegations and emphasizing the redemptive power of faith.
“The worst that could happen, if everything was true, all I got to do is repent sincerely, from my heart,” Jakes said during the service. “There’s enough power in the blood to cover all kinds of sin. I don’t care what it is, the blood would fix it. But I ain’t got to repent about this.”
