Taking risks is what some people dreads in life but not for Shadreck Vitto.
Vitto, 23, had reportedly been in hiding for three days after stealing four goats in his village of Chikwawa, southern Malawi.
But he was unmasked by some residents in Lazaro Village, who upon sighting him, chased him.
It was reported that after a long chase, they trapped him on the banks of Maperera River, and he was faced with two options — either face the beating or take a chance in the waters, which was infested with crocodiles.
He later jumped into the river and was immediately attacked by two crocodiles.
Chikwawa Police Station spokesman, Constable Foster Benjamin, was said to have raised the alarm which attracted people who came to his rescue and rushed him to nearby Chikwawa District Hospital.
According to Benjamin, Shadreck is currently recuperating from the attack and is in a stable condition.
