 Nigeria records10 fresh COVID-19 cases — toll now 224

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has reported 10 new cases of coronavirus in Lagos, FCT and Edo states.



In a tweet on Sunday morning, the agency said: “Ten new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: Six in Lagos State, two in FCT and two in Edo.”

This brings the total number of cases in Nigeria to 224.

Out of the 224 cases, NCDC said 27 have been proven to be free of the virus with 197 active cases, while 5 have been confirmed dead.



“As at 11:15 am 5th April there are 224 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Twenty-seven have been discharged with five deaths,” it said.

With this record, Lagos now tops the chart with a total of 115 cases, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) 45, Edo 9.

Edo and Oyo states now have equal number of cases, except that one victim has already been confirmed dead in Edo, making the number of living victims in the state to 8.
