Mr Ibu receives aid from Nigerians after crying for help
Nollywood legend, John Ikechukwu Okafor, aka Mr Ibu in a viral video called for Nigerians to help him as he risked leg amputation over a recurrent undisclosed illness. Nigerians have since supported as well as rallied for support. Former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki also intervened, clearing his hospital bill.
Nollywood however received criticism from Martins Vincent Otse, VeryDarkMan, and other netizens for failing to help Mr Ibu which was addressed by the industry’s media spokesperson, Kate Henshaw.
Killaboi’s Arrest
Nnanyereugo Benjamin Best, popularly called Killaboi who gained notoriety in July after confessing to the heinous act of killing his girlfriend, Augusta Osedion, a model has been arrested in his Sierra Leonean hideout.
The details of his arrest were made public on Saturday through an emotional Facebook post by Cordelia Okonye, mother of the deceased
Otukpo robbery: 5 Banks raided, many killed
At around 4:15 pm, on October 20, 2023, armed robbers raided Access Bank, First Bank, Zenith Bank, UBA, and Stanbic Bank in Otukpo simultaneously killing many in the process.
The Benue State Police Command confirmed the loss of Chief Superintendent John Adikwu, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Otukpo, and three other police officers in the violent bank heist.
Investigations are underway, and the town is reeling from the shock of these coordinated attacks.
Chef Dammy faces bullying, death threats
Damilola Adeparusi, also known as Chef Dammy, who completed a 120 hours cook-a-thon on the 14th of June in a world record attempt shared a cryptic note on her social media handle @dammypas, alleging threats and bullying by “People of God”.
Dammy’s former pastor, Adegoke Jeremiah Flourish, founder of Spirit Word Global Mission and sponsor of her world record attempt has been accused of making threats to her life. Members of the church also laid curses on Dammy and sent threats via WhatsApp group chats.

Akintola Williams buried amid tears
Nigeria’s first accountant Akintola Williams who died aged 104 was laid to rest on the 11th of September, 2023. Family and friends including Sanwo-Olu, Jim Ovia, and Dangote on Thursday, 19th October bade him farewell after he exited the scene on the 11th of September, 2023.
The exceptional chartered accountant, the late Williams impacted and built a legacy that will remain for generations.
Former Presidential aide, Bode Agusto passes on
Ex-presidential aide Mubasheer Olabode Agusto who pioneered credit rating died aged 68. President Bola Tinubu extended his condolences to the family of Bode Agusto, who was the special adviser on budget matters to President Olusegun Obasanjo during his second term in office.
