Naira Marley, the rave of the moment for most Afrobeat musical lovers, has slated today May 30th as the day to celebrate all Marlians who are living out the Marlian dreams.



Naira Marley otherwise known by his birth name Azeez Fashola is the president of the controversial fan base, “Marlians”

Marlian is a concept which associated with all kinds of youth radicalism. The cult-like members of the group are known for their ‘NO MANAZ’ disposition to whoever, whether young or old.

Other features of Marlians are drug addiction, Marlians would not be caught dead wearing a belt on their trousers, they are ever eager to go clubbing every weekend, they wear Crazy hairstyles – dreadlocks or scruffy, they Don’t fear anything, even death (MAFO), Must love Naira Marley’s music and be ready to stand up for him, Not to pay excessive attention to studies even when most of them are students, they have strong focus on sex, including masturbation; a theme depicted in“Soapy”. Marlian ladies are also expected not to wear undies.



In this online concert, Naira Marley is calling on all those who keep the above rules to come celebrate their liberty and resilience, as well as the courage of all frontline workers fighting Coronavirus.

“Marlian Day celebrates our liberty and our resilience through the daily challenges we face in Nigeria and most recently during the COVID-19 crisis. And also the heroic frontline workers making personal sacrifices daily on behalf of Nigeria and humanity,”

The online concert experience according to the organisers, will be on covered from an iconic monument in Lagos to Naira Marley’s fans at home from 6:30pm to 7:30pm on Saturday (today).

The live concert promises to feature the singer’s hit tracks; Soapy, Tesumole, Marlians’ anthem, Opotoyi as well as parading special guests like WurlD and Zlatan alongside Marlian Music artistes like Zinolesky and Moh Bad.
