Manchester United are actively working to sell five players before the summer transfer window closes on September 1, 2025, as part of their squad overhaul under manager Ruben Amorim, the players identified for potential departure are Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Rasmus Hojlund. These players have been training separately at United’s Carrington facility since expressing their desire to leave the club. Marcus Rashford, previously part of this group, has already secured a season-long loan move to Barcelona, marking the only confirmed exit from the so-called “bomb squad.”

AC Milan have emerged as a strong contender for Hojlund, with their sporting director, Igli Tare, stating, “Hojlund is a good option for us. We are thinking about him, but in the transfer market, you never know what could happen.” However, interest in Hojlund may wane if Milan secure Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who is reportedly their priority.

Garnacho is attracting attention from Chelsea, who are considered frontrunners to sign the young Argentine winger. United, however, are firm on not letting Garnacho leave for less than his market value, despite his valuation dropping as the transfer deadline nears. Roma have also approached United regarding a loan deal for Sancho with an obligation to buy for £20 million next summer, though negotiations are complicated by Sancho’s high wage demands, which previously derailed a potential move to Chelsea.

Antony and Malacia, like Garnacho and Sancho, remain at the club but are training away from the main group as United seek buyers. The club’s failure to secure permanent sales for any first-team players this summer, despite raising over £100 million in sales last year, has raised concerns about financial constraints under Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). The signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig for £65.3 million plus £8.7 million in add-ons is expected to provide a PSR boost, but further sales are needed to fund additional signings.

With just 13 days remaining until the transfer window closes, United are prioritizing outgoings to streamline the squad and create room for potential incomings, such as Brighton’s Carlos Baleba or Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, both of whom have been linked with the club. However, negotiations for these targets remain challenging, and no deals are imminent.

Reports emphasizes that United’s transfer activity will intensify as the deadline approaches, with Amorim keen to balance the squad before the Premier League campaign progresses.
