Farewell to Kelley Mack: The Walking Dead star remembered after her passing at age 33 following a battle with brain cancer.
Actress Kelley Mack, best known for her role as Addy in the hit post-apocalyptic series The Walking Dead, has passed away at the age of 33.
Born Kelley Klebenow, she died peacefully on Saturday in her hometown of Cincinnati after a courageous battle with glioma, a type of tumor affecting the brain and spinal cord. The news was shared via a heartfelt message on CaringBridge, a social platform for sharing health updates.
“It is with indelible sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dear Kelley. Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond, where we all eventually must go,” read a tribute on her official Instagram page, posted alongside a photo of the actress.
Tributes have since poured in from co-stars, friends, and fans who remember her not only for her talent but for her warmth and kindness. Alanna Masterson, who also appeared in The Walking Dead, wrote: “What an incredible human. So proud to have fought alongside her in our final episode together.”
Throughout her career, Mack amassed 35 acting credits and five producer credits. In addition to The Walking Dead, she was recognized for her roles as Penelope Jacobs in Chicago Med and for appearances on FOX’s 9-1-1. She also worked extensively in commercials and voice-overs, featuring in campaigns for brands such as Dr. Pepper, Ross, Dairy Queen, and Chick-fil-A.
Her passion for storytelling began early—sparked by a gift of a mini video camera as a child. She began acting in commercials at a young age and went on to pursue formal education in film. Mack graduated from Hinsdale Central High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in cinematography from Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts in Orange, California.
“Kelley was known for her warmth, creativity, and unwavering support for those around her,” the family’s statement read. “Her infectious enthusiasm and dedication to her craft inspired countless others in the industry and beyond.”
Mack is survived by her parents, Kristen and Lindsay Klebenow; her sister, Kathryn; brother, Parker; grandparents, Lois and Larry Klebenow; and her boyfriend, Logan Lanier.
Her legacy, the statement concluded, “will live on through her contributions to film and television, and in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her talent, kindness, and vibrant spirit.”
