Howe vs Arteta: Can Newcastle break Arsenal’s EPL unbeaten record?

Newcastle United will welcome Arsenal at St. James Park on Saturday on the 192nd clash between the two sides. Both teams have been in an impressive form this season with Arsenal sitting second on the Premier league table and Howe’s rotated team knocking the defending champions of the carabao Cup (Manchester United) off the competition.

The magpies are in sixth place on the league table at the moment after having fairly inconsistent start to this season but they seem to have bounced back and have been strong at home, winning six of their eight games at St. James Park across all competitions, with Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund the only teams to win there.

Newcastle, have scored at least two goals in each of their last five Premier League matches. They are aiming to score multiple goals in six straight Premier league games for the first time since 2004.

Arsenal on the other hand, have not lost in 11 Premier league games since losing 1-0 against Nottingham Forest in May. The Gunners has won eight and drawn three in a run of eleven games unbeaten.

All the three of Arsenal’s draws during that run have come in London derbies against Fulham, Tottenham and Chelsea.

But the hosts, who have won their last three Premier League home games without conceding, are more than capable of denting Arsenal’s title hopes while enhancing their own dreams of glory. They have regained the defensive prowess that made them a formidable force in 2022–23.

Newcastle Vs Arsenal Team news:

When you consider that Howe rested numerous regular starters due to their long injury list, then his team’s exploits at Old Trafford sounds more remarkable.

Targett is the latest addition to the long list of absentees, which already includes the suspended Sandro Tonali, Javier Manquillo, Lewis Miley, Alexander Isak, Sven Botman, Elliot Anderson, Jacob Murphy, and Harvey Barnes.

Former Arsenal player Willock might not to be part of the team to face Mikel Arteta’s men, but Bruno Guimaraes, Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Almiron, and Wilson are all set to return to the starting lineup.

When it comes to team injuries, Arteta can relate to Howe’s suffering because Emile Smith Rowe, a 23-year-old, has been sidelined for several weeks due to a new knee issue that occurred prior to their loss to West Ham.

As Jurrien Timber continues to heal from his ACL injury, Thomas Partey and Gabriel Jesus may not be available for Arsenal until late November or early December.

Arteta will be greatly relieved to see Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Declan Rice, and William Saliba back in the Arsenal starting lineup. Ramsdale, on the other hand, is probably going to give Raya the gloves.

Newcastle Vs Arsenal Prediction:

This is going to be a big test for both teams.

Both sides will be starting with some of their best players returning. Newcastle is aware that a victory will help them keep top four dreams alive and continue their recent good form, while Arsenal will need the three points to keep up their title hopes. It seems the Gunners are likely to extend their unbeaten run with a draw.
