GWR: Chidinma Okafor surpasses 34-hour crocheting record, targets 72 hours
In a unique display of talent, determination and resilience, crocheter and entrepreneur, Chidinma Modupe Okafor has now surpassed current Guinness World Record (GWR) holder Alessandra Hayden having crocheted for 35 hours.
Chidinma who began crocheting on the 24th of December achieved this feat by 3 am on Tuesday, 26th December.
Alessandra who hails from Gig Harbor, Washington, USA became the current world record holder for the longest marathon crocheting on the 30th, 2021 after crocheting for 34 hours and 7 minutes.
Chidinma who has now surpassed this time hopes to continue for another 37 hours in order to set a new world record of 72 hours.

Keeping a positive demeanour; smile on the face, yarn in hand and goal in mind, she aims to produce a wedding dress. Meanwhile, Alessandra produced a blanket and a shawl during her GWR attempt.
Beautiful Chidinma Okafor is also the founder of “Million Thoughts Foundation” and hails from Imo state, Nigeria.
