Brain Jotter was born on February 5, 1996, from Owerri, Imo State. He grew up in Orile Iganmu, a town in Lagos, Nigeria, where he completed both his primary and secondary education in the city before pursuing a degree in Business Administration at the prestigious University of Lagos. He graduated as a business administrator from UNILAG in 2024. There is also a widespread belief that he has lived in Ghana during his early age.
Coming from a middle-class family, Brain Jotter’s father is a businessman, while his mother is a housewife. He has two siblings, a brother and a sister. Although he has not publicly discussed any major hardships he faced before achieving fame, he has shared insights into the challenges of being a comedian in Nigeria, such as the lack of infrastructure and support for the arts. He emphasises the importance of hard work and perseverance in achieving success.
Career
Growing up, Brain Jotter was known for his ability to mimic characters from movies to people around him. He began his comedy career as a stand-up funny joker on campus, where he honed his skills. He would entertain his classmates and make everyone around reel in laughter due to his funny natute. Many saw him as a clown and a jester who may not have a future. But, he proved all those assumptions wrong. His early performances included appearances at well-known events such as “The Unleashed” and “Pencil Unbroken” in Abuja. However, 2020 marked a breakthrough for him when he started posting short comedic videos on his social media accounts. Today, he is one of the most-followed skit makers in Nigeria and is well-recognised throughout the West African region.
