2024 goals

“If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy, and inspires your hopes.” — Andrew Carnegie

There’s no doubt that 2024 is a lot closer than we think. The year is running out, and another is around the corner. There’s no better time to plan and re-strategize than now. We are at the pointy end of the year, where we can count the remaining time left in weeks rather than months.

It’s that time when we begin to reflect on what we wanted to achieve in the past years, what we accomplished within the year, and what we would like to achieve in the long run.

A lot can change in a year, and 2024 might be your breakthrough year. It will be a good exercise to think about what you want to accomplish by this time next year rather than having no plans. So, here are the five amazing goals you can set for yourself in 2024 to make it your most memorable and best year ever!

1. Keep a journal

You don’t necessarily need to be a writer before you can keep a journal. Journaling is a brilliant way to track your thoughts and feelings while also being able to reflect on them. It allows you to express yourself honestly in a non-judgmental space.

It keeps you conscious of who you are, what is most important to you, and what’s not. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on your experiences from a year ago with fresh eyes and perspective. Keep a journal, write down all you want to achieve in 2024 and mark the goals once you achieve them. I keep a journal, and it’s really been amazing!

2. Build a daily and new stream of income

Money is tighter than ever for most families, especially with how things are going in the country. Truly, we might have little control over the price of everything, but we can have more control over the money we bring in. In this way, it’s important to think like an entrepreneur: In 2024 always think how can you bring in a daily income.

You cannot own a car, house, get married to your soul mate, when you only have plans to fantasise about making money, sleep or watch TV all day in 2024. You just can never make it that way. You need to change your source of income or add to the one you have.

Money is good and for your 2024 to be your best year, you must learn to earn daily and spend less on frivolities. The best way to make this happen is to build an online business that doesn’t rely on you working 24/7. Selling online courses and other digital content can be a great path, so that you will have time for yourself and other things.

3. Explore new passions

One of the best goals to set for 2024 is to expose yourself to as many different experiences as possible. As easy as it is to cling to your comfort zone, you should always be looking for ways to stay out and discover new experiences. You can buy some books or watch some YouTube videos or documentaries on a new subject.

You never know how it will inspire you or what opportunities might arise from it. Learning doesn’t have to stop because you’ve finished your schooling or something. A commitment to long-term learning is one of the most effective and simple life goals for anyone interested in living a fulfilling life.

Try taking a new course often on the internet or at a local school near you. Look for opportunities to learn from other people, or seek a mentor who can help you hone specific skills. Make sure you learn everyday coming 2024.

Volunteering and donating are also two ways we can make a big impact in the world around us and still gain experience that will give us a best 2024.

I’ve taught people research for free, not because I cannot ask them to pay me but because I’m still a work in progress and I believe I will get to the point where they beg to pay for my services. Gain the experience first, money will come.

Doing something new is a chance to discover the skills and talents that you never knew you had. It’s also a way to build relationships with new people you might meet and discover hobbies that make you happier.

4. Take more risks

Life is sweet when risk is involved. Without risk, you cannot earn and live your dreams because fears will always try to be smarter. Hence, if you don’t take risk, achieving your goals will definitely be hard. Risks are something we often work hard to avoid, but sometimes they’re necessary.

Think about something that could have a great impact on your life, but you’re currently too nervous to try. Could the benefits outweigh the risk?

If so, this is the time to bite the bullet and jump in. I was always scared of the dark, but with risks, I conquered it. What’s something you’ve always wanted to learn about but never took the time to delve into? Maybe it’s nature or life, maybe it’s marriage, or maybe even cooking. Take the risk and conquer those fears. 2024 is waiting for your boldness

5. Don’t be so hard on yourself……stay healthy at all times!

Cut yourself some slack! No matter how pressured it gets or how busy you’re, know that you’re the most important and that your life is just one. Sometimes, we pursue our aspirations so much that we forget we exist.

You’d also be interested to know that one of the most common reasons people fail at achieving their goals is that when they find themselves hitting a bump on the road, they end up beating themselves up over it and give up. That’s not how it is supposed to be.

Most highly successful people would gladly tell you that they’ve have experienced more failures than success. The reason why they end up succeeding is because they flat out refuse to let their shortcomings get the best of them. Instead, they choose to learn from the experience and use their failed attempts as motivation.

So, if you’ve intended to lose 15 billion naira, and find yourself having an indulgent meal one evening, don’t immediately conclude that you won’t reach your goal. You’ve always got the choice to get back on track the next day.

Don’t be so hard on yourself, choose to dust yourself off and try again. Truth be told, it really doesn’t matter how slow you go, you’ll eventually succeed if you refuse to quit!

Most importantly, your health is wealth. Health here entails fitness, nutrition, mental, meditation etc. When you fail to accomplish a particular goal, just rest but don’t quit, eat good food, go on a trip, and start anew. As far as you’re alive, life continues. You will get there, don’t be pressured and don’t be in a haste.

In conclusion, as you set gaols for yourself for 2024, make sure you put in action to accomplish it. Prayer without work is dead. Plans without actions are useless. Let’s apply the tips and let’s make 2024 our best year!
