COVID-19 spreads to Delta, Katsina as Nigeria confirms 16 new cases

Sixteen new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Nigeria by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in five states: 10 in Lagos, 2 in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, 2 in Oyo, 1 in Delta and 1 in Katsina.
The report was confirmed 9:30 pm Tuesday night on the Twitter handle of the NCDC.
“Sixteen new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 10 in Lagos, 2 in the FCT, 2 in Oyo, 1 in Delta and 1 in Katsina,” the tweet read.
Although there was no breakdown on which state that discharged some patients, the agency reported that the number of discharged patients have risen to fourty-four with a total of six deaths.
It further reported that Nigeria now has a total of 254 confirmed cases of the virus.
“As at 09:30 pm 7th April there are 254 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Fourty-four have been discharged with six deaths”
The inclusion of Delta and Katsina makes it a total of seventeen (17) states affected by the pandemic in the country.
