The sporting world continues to experience a massive impact as coronavirus spreads rapidly, especially in Europe.

The spread of coronavirus has led to cancellation or suspension of several sporting events including Champion league matches, Serie A, La Liga, among others.

Recent developments have been observed as the pandemic virus has got to the core of sports, affecting players of high profile clubs.

Christano Ronaldo has been quarantined in Portugal after his Juventus teammate and defender, Daniele Rugani, tested positive for coronavirus.

Last Sunday, Rugani and Ronaldo shared the same dressing room after their 2-0 victory over Inter Milan in Turin.

According to Quotidiano Sportivo, Ronaldo will be staying in Portugal self-isolating until is given the green light to return to Italy.

Meanwhile, Leicester Manager, Bredan Rodgers has reported that three of his players are self-isolating from the rest of the squad after showing symptoms of the deadly respiratory virus.

Although no name has been mentioned, the development  puts Nigerian duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho at risk.

‘’We have had a few players that have shown symptoms and signs of coronavirus. We have followed procedures and (as precaution) they have been kept away from the squad,’’ Rodgers said.

‘’This is about health, this is more than football. This is more than football. This is about players and their families, so any risks that are there for their health and everyone else’s, we have to mitigate against that.’’
