CHAN 2024: Top scorers ahead of quarter-final fixtures

Uganda’s Allan Okello and South Africa’s Thabiso Kutumela lead the goal-scoring charts at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) with three goals each as the ascend the quarter-final stage, which begins on Friday, August 22, 2025. The tournament, co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, has seen fierce competition, with the group stage concluding on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
According to reports, Okello and Kutumela are tied at the top, with Morocco’s Oussama Lamlioui also on three goals. Following closely are Madagascar’s L. C. Rafanomezantsoa, Morocco’s Mouhcine Hrimat, and Jean-Kasongo, each with two goals. Earlier in the tournament, Tanzania’s Clement Mzize, Kenya’s Austine Odhiambo, Angola’s Kaporal, and Sudan’s Abdel Raouf were also noted as joint-top scorers with two goals each after earlier group stage matches.

CHAN 2024: All quarter-final fixtures confirmed
The quarter-final fixtures, confirmed on Tuesday, are set to take place on August 22 and 23, 2025. The matchups are as follows: Kenya vs. Madagascar, Tanzania vs. Morocco, Uganda vs. Senegal, and Sudan vs. Algeria. These games promise intense battles as the eight qualifying teams vie for a spot in the semi-finals.
The CHAN 2024 tournament, the eighth edition of the competition for players in domestic leagues, has featured a record 19 teams across four groups. Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda have emerged as strong contenders, with Kenya securing their historic first quarter-final appearance. Sudan topped Group D after a 0-0 draw with Senegal, while Nigeria secured a 2-0 victory over Congo in the final group stage matches.
As the knockout rounds approach, all eyes will be on Okello, Kutumela, and Lamlioui to see if they can extend their lead in the race for the golden boot. The tournament continues to deliver thrilling football, with the final scheduled for August 30, 2025, at the Moi International Sports Center in Nairobi, Kenya.
