Arsenal Football Club has secured the signing of Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP in a deal worth €73.5 million, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The announcement, made earlier today, marks the completion of negotiations with a verbal agreement in place between all parties. The transfer fee comprises a base payment of €63.5 million, with an additional €10 million in add-ons. Sporting CP accepted Arsenal’s final bid, while Gyokeres’ agent agreed to reduce his commission to facilitate the move. The 27-year-old forward is set to sign a five-year contract with the Gunners and will don the number 14 jersey, as evidenced by fan merchandise already circulating online.

Gyokeres, who joined Sporting CP from Coventry City in 2023, has emerged as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers, scoring 54 goals in 52 appearances last season, helping his club secure a league title and cup double. His preference for Arsenal over other suitors, including Manchester United, was a key factor in the deal’s progression, with reports indicating his frustration over delays in the transfer process, as noted by TBR Football on July 21, 2025.
