 APPLY: Salma Attah Foundation launches ‘Kallabi fellowship’ to empower northern Nigerian women

In a move to achieve #TheNigeriaWeWant, Salma Attah Foundation for Women and Girls Support (SAFWGS) has unveiled the ‘Kallabi Fellowship’, an initiative aimed at empowering young women in Northern Nigeria. 

Supported by the Nigeria Youth Future Fund (NYFF), this program is set to equip participants with essential skills through tailored workshops, mentorship programs, advocacy initiatives, and internships at the State House of Assembly.



“The Kallabi Fellowship, inspired by Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, symbolizes the blend of cultural identity and modern aspirations of young women leaders,” stated a spokesperson from SAFWGS. “It offers a comprehensive 6-month intensive program featuring world-class modules and an 8-week internship designed to provide practical experience.”

Declaring the fellowship open in Minna, Niger state capital on Thursday, the founder of SAFWGS, Amrah Aliyu Emphasized its commitment to supporting youth leadership, the fellowship includes leadership training, policy analysis, advocacy workshops, and mentorship from seasoned policymakers. “Our goal is to enhance young women’s roles in governance, transparency, accountability, and policy advocacy,” highlighted SAFWGS.



The fellowship aims to engage 25-30 outstanding young women who have demonstrated potential in effecting community change through thoughtful leadership and strategic advocacy. “Selected fellows will not only preserve their cultural heritage but also redefine female leadership in modern Nigeria,” added SAFWGS.
