Apply: CrispNG invites entries for second campus journalism award
Crisp Nigeria (CrispNG) has announced its second journalism prize for campus journalists, specifically targeting students at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Awka, Anambra State.
This edition, co-sponsored by Chidi Okoye, a journalist and public affairs analyst, will run from August 5 to September 5, with the winner receiving a cash prize of N10,000 to be announced on September 10.
Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, depth, thematic relevance, and societal impact. Participants are expected to propose a unique story idea, develop it into a specialised report, and submit it for evaluation, focusing on impactful journalism rather than standard breaking news.
Submissions should be sent to [email protected] with the title “Entry for CrispNG Prize.”

Blessing Chukwuneke, CrispNG’s communication strategist, noted that the prize is aimed at rewarding campus journalists who go the extra mile to produce impactful stories.
“This initiative aligns with our objectives as a youth-driven media organization,” she said. “It is another opportunity to reward campus journalists bracing the odds to create compelling stories. This is our own way of encouraging campus journalists as they continue to advance their journalism careers.”
The maiden edition of the CrispNG journalism prize, launched in July at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), was won by Peter Okoye, a second-year Mass Communication student, for his story “Single at Home, ‘Married’ in School: Concerns Over Cohabitation in Nigeria’s Tertiary Institutions,” which explored the prevalence of cohabitation in Nigerian universities.
