As the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations- AFCON progresses in Morocco, at least five countries have been officially eliminated from the tournament following the conclusion of key group-stage matches.
In Group B, Angola’s campaign came to an end after they managed only a draw against Egypt, finishing with just two points. This placed them behind both Egypt and South Africa, who secured second spot in the group, resulting in Angola’s exit.

Also in Group B, Zimbabwe suffered elimination after a 3-2 defeat to South Africa, leaving them at the bottom of the standings with a single point from their matches.
Additionally, Botswana, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea were knocked out after the second round of group-stage fixtures. All three nations failed to earn any points from their opening two games, sealing their early departure from the competition.
Reports indicate that Botswana, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon were among the first to be confirmed eliminated due to their winless starts, underscoring the competitive intensity of the tournament as the group stage advances.
