The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State has inaugurated a 20-man committee to oversee grassroot mobilization aimed at securing victory for the party at the forthcoming 2019 general elections, starting with the reelection of the State Governor, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
The Executive Chairman of the local government, Hon. Dr. Fidelis Odo officially announced the inaugurated committee when he visited six communities in the area in company of other stakeholders yesterday.
The communuties include: Echara-Iziakpu, Nkalagu Obukpa, Itchi community, Itchi-nwani, Ibagkwa-Nkwo (Muslim) community, and Ibagkwa-Aka
Stakeholders who spoke in a chat with CRISPNG during the event expressed confidence that the inaugurated committee would leave no stone unturned to ensure PDP clinches all elective positions at the next year’s elections.
According to Hon. Malachi Ezema, the aim of the event was to ensure consolidation of the achievements of the state government and the PDP in the area.
“What happened today is the inauguration of 20-man committee that will see to spreading the good news across communities in Igbo-Eze South so that they will know that actual thing the Governor is doing in the state for them,” he said.
Also speaking, Hon. Chinaso Obeta assured the selected members of the committee would not fail their mandate of delivering the area for the PDP during the 2019 elections.
The Waziri Serik of Muslim community Igbo-Eze South Local Government lauded the the Chairman for his inclusive governance in the area, which according to him, has shot the Muslim community to limelight in the scheme of things in the area.
He went on to commend the state governor for his achievements since he came to power in 2015, expressing optimism that he would emerge victorious again in 2019 going by his track records.
On his part, His Royal Highness, Dr. Eze described the inauguration of the committee as a welcome development, observing that such was key to educating the electorates and helping them voting the right candidates during elections.
